We welcome the opportunity to educate your children! We are available to answer your questions anytime. School tours are given by appointment throughout the school year and an open house is held in the spring. In addition, you are always welcome to join our students and parishioners as they participate in our weekly all school Mass which is generally held on Tuesday at 8:30 am in the Cathedral. This is an excellent way to gain a sense of the Christian environment that is the foundation of St. Joseph’s School.
How do I register my child? What paperwork will I need?
Upon receipt of the following, your child will be placed on a pre-registration list for future openings:
- Completed pre-registration application (download
the Pre-Registration Form)
- $50 non-refundable application fee.
- Baptism and Birth Certificates
- Health information including complete immunization records (required by the state of Idaho).
- Any available school test records (not required for kindergarten)
- Prior school records -- report cards, attendance records and behavior records (not required for kindergarten)
When can I put my preschool student on the waiting list?
You may put your child on the waiting list beginning on September 1st two years prior to the year that they will attend kindergarten. For example, if your child will be five by September 1 of 2010, you may place them on the waiting list on September 1 of 2008. Students must be 5 years of age by midnight, September 1 to enter kindergarten.
When can I put my grade school student on the waiting list?
Pre-registration applications are accepted year round. Students may be enrolled throughout the year depending on openings.
When will I know if my child has been admitted? How will I be contacted?
Admission into St. Joseph’s Catholic School is based on many factors including whether or not the family is registered at St. John’s Cathedral, attends Mass, supports the parish, participates in parish activities and has another child already attending St. Joseph’s or prior enrollment in another Catholic school.
Registration for current students occurs in the early spring. All openings are then filled from the pre-registration applications on file. As openings are filled, phone calls are made from the information on file. Please be sure to update us if your contact information changes. |
