Mrs. Mary McClure - Middle School Science, Religion

Mrs. McClure began her teaching career in 1986 and started at St. Joseph’s in 2000. She earned a B.S. in Microbiology from the University College of Galway, Ireland and her Higher Diploma in Education from the University College of Dublin, Ireland. She received her Idaho teaching certificate from Boise State University. In 2007, Mrs. McClure earned her Standard Catechist Certificate from the Diocese of Boise through Gonzaga University.

Mrs. McClure came to St. Joe's in 2000, and by 2002 had brought us to our first win at the state Science Olympiads competition, a national science competition for junior and senior high school students.  As our Science Olympiad Head Coach, Mrs. McClure has led St. Joe’s to win eight out of ten state competitions, from 2002 through 2011 – a truly remarkable performance!  As state champs, St. Joe’s went on to participate at nationals, taking our students around the country to compete.  Mrs. Mary McClure, embodies the St. Joseph philosophy, that we give students “confidence to identify their gifts, practice their talents, and celebrate their successes.”

Good luck to Mrs. McClure and her St. Joe’s team at this year’s Science Olympiad, on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa.  For more information on the Science Olympiad, go to www.soinc.org/idaho (Idaho’s Science Olympiad Site at NNU), or www.soinc.org (The National Science Olympiad Site).
