3.17.20 School Update

Good afternoon St. Joseph’s Community,

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Today, we met as an entire team and then broke up into grade level teams K-2, 3-5, and 6-8. Teachers began recording instructional videos in the Google platform. We are utilizing Google classroom for 3rd – 8th grade as this is a great educational delivery resource. Our Kindergarten – 2nd grade teachers are working through a website as students in those grade levels will not be required to submit assignments online.

Our goal on Thursday and Friday is to have all of our students dip their toes in distance learning; grade level teachers will be sending out a communication on what exactly that will be. By the end of this week, our goal is to have one week of digital content ready in case we need to be out of school the week of March 30th – April 3rd.

We also had more families come in and pick up materials/textbooks and some checked out chrome books. We will have chrome books available for checkout the week of March 30th if needed.

I have been asked how long school will be closed – we will have another Idaho Catholic school principal check in during spring break to re-evaluate our school closure plan. I will continue to communicate with you on the most up to date information that I have.

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go: I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” – Psalm 32:8

Let’s continue to pray for God’s guidance.

For Excellence in Catholic Education
