4.29.20 Principal’s News

Good afternoon to all of our St. Joseph’s Families,

I hope this email finds you and your families well. As you are aware, we are continuing our distance learning with all of our students and our teachers continue working hard to engage our students and help them continue to learn. A huge thank to all of you at home who are helping your children with distance learning – we appreciate all your efforts!

In collaboration with other Catholic School principals in the Treasure Valley, guidance from Idaho Health officials, and faculty consensus, we have made the decision to continue our distance learning through the remainder of this school year. Students will not be returning to the school building and we will continue with distance learning until May 22nd when all assignments are due. This decision was made considering what is best for students and faculty safety, student learning and student and family routines.

In the meantime, our specials teachers are offering some fun activities – Mr. Maxwell is sending out information on a National Field Day – the week of May 4th – May 8th. We are also looking at a virtual fun run activity. Senora Arrubarena is teaching some of our students the Mexican Hat Dance for Cinco de Mayo. Mrs. Anderson is busy recording great videos with fun art activities – those can be found on Instagram and our St. Joe’s Facebook page. We are also working in committees to figure out 8th grade graduation, 2nd grade First Holy Communion and end of year awards. More to come soon.

On May 26, 27, 28, we will be having families come to the school to pick up student supplies and drop off any textbooks, library books and Chromebooks. We will do this in a safe manner and it will also be time to provide some closure to the school year.  I will be sending out more detailed information about this later next week.

Thank you for your ongoing support of St. Joseph’s Catholic School. Together, we will continue to do what is best for our St. Joseph’s community, We care about all of you and I continue to pray for you and your families.

Take care and God Bless –

For Excellence in Catholic Education

Blessings,
