4.3.20 Principal’s News

Good afternoon St. Joseph’s Families,

We just finished our first week of Distance Learning and the good news is that students are engaged in their classes and are learning. Students are actively participating in our new learning platform. All of the teachers are working hard to provide content for our students’ learning.

There have of course been some challenges and we will continue to work through them. Teachers are making some minor adjustments as we continue to navigate this new platform. From all accounts, St. Joseph’s is ahead of the curve on providing content for our students. Our teachers are the heroes in all of this as they are working hard to stay connected with our students – they are working harder than ever as this is new for all of us! We are staying connected virtually as a faculty and staff. Please let me know via email if you need to check out a Chromebook from us – we are more than happy to provide these devices to our families if needed.

Please take the short survey and let us know how things are going from the distance learning environment in your homes, what is going well and how we can improve. This will help us as we move forward with our distance learning plan. Here is the link to our parent survey for distance learning.

In addition, the Idaho State Board of Education will meet late Monday afternoon to determine any additional approaches to learning and possible extension of school closure. I can tell you that we are ahead of the curve on our implementation of our distance learning plan. I have a state wide Catholic principal’s meeting immediately following and will send out any updates as soon as I learn anything new.

Thank you for your continued support of St. Joseph’s Catholic School. We will all get through this together. I will continue to pray for the health and safety of all of our families.

 For Excellence in Catholic Education

Blessings,

Tammy Emerich
