4.6.20 Update on School Closure

Good evening St. Joseph’s Families,

Today the Idaho State Board of Education voted unanimously to extend the “soft closure” of all public schools to the end of this school year or until local and state social distancing orders have been lifted and re-entry criteria established by the state board have been met.

The soft closure prohibits instruction in school buildings, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but still allows school districts to continue remote learning. As you are all aware, our teachers have been working hard to continue providing student learning and connection to our community.

St. Joseph’s Catholic School is prepared to continue remote learning through the remainder of the school year, or until the school community has met the criteria to come together again.  The Idaho State Board of Education will meet again next Monday to develop that criteria for possibly coming back to school. Once the criteria has been released, we will reevaluate the school’s ability to begin to have students return to campus.

We appreciate your continued support of St. Joseph’s Catholic School.  Our goal is provide a quality Catholic education to your child, even though we must deliver it from a distance.  If you are having challenges with anything within our distance learning plan, please reach out. We are all in this together and must continue to support one another and lift each other up. Please let me know if I can do anything for your family during this time – please focus on what is most important – God and your family!

For Excellence in Catholic Education

Blessings,
