Good afternoon St. Joseph’s Families,
Thank you to those of you who were able to make it to our Back to School Night on Tuesday. It was a great way for us to come together as a community and officially kick off our school year!
Our Saint for the 2019-2020 school year is Saint Kateri. According to Catholic Online, St. Kateri Tekakwitha is the first Native American to be recognized as a saint by the Catholic Church. She was born in 1656, in the Mohawk village of Ossernenon. She was a model of Christian Life and helped the elderly and sick. She saw in nature a reflection of God’s glory and beauty. We will honor St. Kateri at our Tuesday Mass next week and will unveil the banner in the hallway. All are welcome and we hope you can
join us at Mass.
Safety is my number one priority for our students, faculty and staff at St. Joseph’s. We had our first safety drill of the year this morning. We practiced a fire drill – it went smoothly. We will have monthly safety drills throughout the school year.
Classes are off to a great start this year. Students are learning the routines and working hard. I am beginning my walk through observations and learning about all the great things going on in our school. We are truly blessed in so many ways!
I want to let you know that my door is always open to address any questions or concerns you might have. Please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call and set up a time for us to meet. Thank you for your commitment and investment in Catholic education.
Have a great three day weekend – enjoy the last days of summer!
