Good afternoon St. Joseph’s Families,

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year at St. Joseph’s Catholic School! Can you believe that the school year starts in 11 days? Summer has flown by, and I hope you have had time for relaxation, fun and enjoying the blessing of your families and friends. I want to remind you of where we were one year ago, we were anxious, scared, and uncertain about what the school year would bring. It seems like many are feeling those very same feelings. Here is a prayer that might help:

9 Prayers for Peace of Mind - receive God's peace!

On Friday, August 13th we have our popsicle social and school supply drop off from 2:00-3:00. Students may not bring supplies in early – if you can’t make it that day, bring your supplies on Monday, August 16th.

Used uniform sale is Monday, August 9th – Thursday, August 12th from 8:00-3:00 in the school. Friday, August 13th from noon – 3:00.

Monday, August 16th is a 12:00 dismissal with the rest of the week in regular school hours from 8:00-3:00.

Looking Forward to the 2021-2022 School Year

We are excited about the 2021-2022 school year and welcoming students back to school! St. Joseph’s Catholic School will be open in full capacity for the 2021-2022 school year.

Our focus areas for the year:

  • Our Catholic Identity
  • Academic Excellence
  • Our St. Joseph’s/St. John’s Community – building relationships
  • The continued health and safety of our students and staff and overall St. Joseph’s community
  • Self-study for school accreditation

Next week, we will send out our COVID response plan for the 2021-2022 school year. There is much prayerful consideration that goes into implementing our safety mitigation strategies for our teachers and students. I sent out an email last week letting our community know that, as of right now, masks will be optional for St. Joseph’s as well as all Catholic schools in Idaho. This is a diocesan wide implementation.

Our playground is on track for completion with a few minor delays. This will not impact the opening of school. I can’t wait to see the kid’s excitement when they see their new playground for the first time!

St. Joseph’s will be going through our self-study year for our school accreditation. This is an informative process where we will evaluate our school based on the National Standards and Benchmarks of Effective Elementary and Secondary Schools. We will be seeking your input and participation in this process Throughout the 2021-2022 school year.

Thank you for entrusting your child’s Catholic education to us.  St. Joseph’s is a strong, vibrant community – thank you for being part of it!

Take Care and God Bless,

Tammy Emerich
