Mrs. Porter has a B.S in Child, Family and Consumer Studies from the University of Idaho and an a Master's in Social Work from Boise State University. She has worked for 20 years in pediatric mental health, developmental disabilities and with children who have chronic medical needs. She has extensive experience working with educational teams to develop and monitor individualized education plans. Most recently, Mrs. Porter worked with St. Mark's Catholic School to provide additional support to their Child First Team, as well as work collaboratively with a group of professionals to obtain grant funding to implement a suicide prevention program. Mrs. Porter firmly believes that a dynamic partnership between the child, parents and school systems to enhance the students social, emotional, behavioral and academic functioning is imperative to a student's success. Through comprehensive individual assessment, she can help develop meaningful strategies to target barriers to educational performance and boost children's confidence and love of learning.
