St. Joseph’s celebrated Catholic Schools Week with a number of fun activities, beginning with a school-hosted Sunday Mass at St. John’s Cathedral. Students and faculty celebrated a different aspect of Catholic Schools each day, to align with our School-wide Learning Expectations: Spiritual, Academic, Citizenship, Social, and Physical. Dress-up themes included Hawaiian, Pajama, and Red, White and Blue Days. Thursday, students “Dressed as Their Favorite Saint” to the delight of guest speakers Fr. Radmar Jao (St. Paul’s Catholic Center), Sister Sheila Cigich and Sister Susie Johnston (Sisters of Divine Grace), who shared their vocation stories with our students. On Friday, St. Joe’s capped off the week at the All City Mass, followed by a sports assembly and sock hop. Our school also held a fundraiser during CSW and raised over $3,000 for Saint Teresa of Calcutta’s Missionaries of Charity in Spokane, Washington.
St. Joseph’s will be hosting an Open House on Tuesday, Feb. 21. It will begin around 10 a.m. (after our school Mass) in the school library. Students and parents will have an opportunity to tour the school and visit with faculty and parents. Students and parents are invited the Mass at 8:30 a.m. Registration for new students to St. Joseph’s Catholic School will begin on Feb. 21. Come and see what our school has to offer!
