Students in grades 3-8 at St. Joseph’s Catholic School are participating in Learn Storm.
What is Learn Storm? Idaho is the first state-wide roll-out of Learn Storm! Currently, students in Ireland, Bay Area (CA), Chicago, and Idaho are participating in Learn Storm. Learn Storm is a 9 week math challenge from Khan Academy. Sal Kahn came to Idaho to kick off Learn Storm at the beginning of February. St. Joe’s very own Mrs. Russell and Mrs. Weaver are Learn Storm Idaho Ambassadors, and they had the chance to talk to Sal Kahn and promote Learn Storm throughout the state.
- Builds confidence in every student – LearnStorm rewards growth and diligence as much as achievement, so that every student has the opportunity to be recognized for their hard work.
- Strengthens Common Core math skills – Students work on Khan Academy’s adaptive learning platform with thousands of interactive exercises, with step-by-step hints, and supporting videos.
- Rewards school teams as well as individual students – Students can work independently and as members of their school team, building school pride, and earning the chance to attend an epic, in-person final celebration.
- Is easy to sign up and participate from anywhere – all your child needs is an Internet connection and a Khan Academy account.
