Petty Officer Richard Jimerson (USN), Sergeant Keagan Florence (Army), Tech Sergeant Donald Reese Ludlow (USAF), Sergeant Russell Davis (USMC)… The school community has shared over 200 “stars” to honor, remember and love veterans and the men and women who are currently serving our country. It has been a priceless experience to watch a student stop and gaze at the flag created by our 7th graders and read the “stars” of our school community. Amanda and I are in awe of the response. We hope to see you at tomorrow’s Veterans Day Assembly @ 8:30 a.m. in the gym.
Take an extra moment to safely cross the street before and after school with your little ones. Please email me or Amanda if you would like to volunteer for crosswalk duty from 7:45-8:00 a.m.
Sunday, Nov. 13th at 5pm, St. Joe’s will be hosting Mass at the Cathedral. We would love for all families to join us and for all families to join us and for students wear their uniforms. Students may check in with Mrs. Kuznia or Mr. McCormick while you’re there for a free dress day pass to use on Friday, Nov. 18th.

Bravely act like a Saint today!
Hello St. Joseph’s families,
As you have read in the bulletin, we are running a contest until 12/1 for RaiseRight (formerly called Scrip) and I wanted to share more about what RaiseRight is and why it is important for St. Joe’s. This program has been around for many years and used to be called Scrip, it’s now called RaiseRight but it is the same program. It is easier to use now than it used to be, with many options for how to purchase the cards. New features include e-cards instead of physical cards as an option and doing it all on the RaiseRight app!
What is RaiseRight?
RaiseRight is a straight-forward fundraising program. Gift cards are purchased by St. Joe’s at a discount and sold to you at face value. No extra cost to you! The school receives 2% – 20% ON EACH CARD, depending on the retailer. For example, if you purchase a $25 Starbucks card the school will get 4.5% back on that purchase. The percentage may not seem exceptionally high but many schools generate tens of thousands of dollars annually through RaiseRight. And it’s at no cost to our families! The additional funds can be used to fund projects at St. Joe’s, keep teacher salaries competitive and keep tuition steady.
What gift cards are offered?
There are so many options! Whole Foods, Albertsons, Amazon, Starbucks, Home Depot, GAP, Athleta and gas cards are just some of the cards available. That being said, every dollar counts and adds up quickly when many families participate!
How can I participate?
There are now TWO ways to participate.
1) Purchase RaiseRight on the App (skip all the paper) – download RaiseRight Fundraising. It’s the navy and red heart icon in your App store. You can purchase e-cards for most stores that will load directly to your phone and be stored in your RaiseRight wallet, which can be scanned directly off your phone at the store. If you prefer a physical card for yourself or for a gift you can also purchase it on the app. The app has a fun feature which shows you how much money your purchase has generated for St. Joe’s from the retailers. The enrollment code for St. Joseph’s is *email Kendall Mooney for code which you will enter when you sign-up on the app. EVERY FAMILY WHO DOWNLOADS THE APP AND MAKES A PURCHASE BETWEEN NOW AND 12/20 WILL EARN A “FREE DRESS COUPON” FOR THE CHILDREN IN THEIR FAMILY.
2) St. Joe’s paper order forms – available in the office at any time. You can choose to pick-up your cards at the office or have them sent home with your child. All RaiseRight checks should be made out to St. Joseph’s School with “RaiseRight” on the notation line. You choose how you prefer to pay (on the app with your own checking account, credit card) or by check to St. Joseph’s. If you order physical cards, Kendall Mooney will let you know when they are available. The office has a stock of many cards available for same day purchase. Some may need to be ordered and will be available within a week. If you want to check on in-stock availability for a physical card email Kendall at email@example.com.
If you have questions, please email Kendall Mooney at firstname.lastname@example.org or Wendi Drake at email@example.com (Parent Coordinator). All of the forms are on our website as well as available in the office. Of course we don’t require any family to purchase RaiseRight but it is a wonderful NO COST way for St. Joe’s families to help generate funds that retailers are happy to send to our school.
