Principal’s Blog 5.5.2022

Greetings St. Joseph’s Families,

It is Teacher Appreciation Week! We so appreciate all our teachers and instructional aides for their hard work and dedication to our students. They give selflessly each day and share the gift of faith and learning with our students. We are grateful for each of you!

We had May Crowning Mass on Tuesday. This is a beautiful tradition at our school where the 2nd and 8th grade students partner up to Crown our Blessed Virgin Mary. Our 8th grade girls do the readings, and one girl is selected to place a crown on Mary. It was nice having many parents attend as well.

Can you believe we only have three weeks of school left in the 2021-2022 school year? We have many fun events planned to finish out our school year.

Tomorrow, we have a teacher workday – no school for students. We will be focusing on end of school events, updating grades, looking at the calendar for next year, self – study for accreditation and having collaboration time for our teachers.

Today, our students have Adoration in the day chapel. There have been many powerful messages and great feedback from our students. We are blessed as we have been able to have our students participate in this spiritual exercise.

We began Spring MAP testing this week for our 2nd-8th grade students. MAP testing will run through the end of next week. Student Reports will be sent home the week of May 23rd.

We are excited to be able to have the Fun Run again this year. The Fun Run will be on Friday, May 13th throughout the late morning and afternoon. Please turn in your forms by tomorrow to participate in the raffle portion of this event.

8th Street Bikeway Project is still under review. We have formed a working group: Martha Chalfant, Kelly Adams, Rob McQuade, Mark and Becky Uranga, and Tammy Emerich. Thank you to all for your work on this and a big thank you to  Martha Chalfant for leading out on this!  The next meeting is toward the on May 25th at 6:00pm– we will reach out as we learn more information

We have adjusted our school calendar on two days. Thursday, May 26th will be our last day of school – 8:00-3:00. Graduation for our 8th grade students will be Tuesday, May 24th at 2:00 pm.

Important Dates to Add to your Calendar:

  • May 2nd – May 13th – MAP Testing for 2nd-8th grade students
  • May 13th – St. Joseph’s Fun Run
