Happy Thursday St. Joseph’s Families,
It is hard to believe that it is already October! We only have two weeks left in 1st quarter. Our students are working hard each day praying, learning and playing!
Just a reminder that our students do not have school tomorrow –Friday, October 4th – we will be attending the Catholic Educators’ Conference as a faculty and staff. The goal of the Catholic Educators’ Conference is to equip us to share the Gospel; to provide high-quality training in how to teach the Catholic faith; to join together from across the state, united in our common faith and mission.
Please join us for the Blessing of the Animals this afternoon at 3:00 PM. Tomorrow is the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and ecology because he loved all creatures. Fr. Mariusz (along with several of our deacons) will conduct the Blessing of the Animals. Please come to the playground with your animals if you would like your family pet to receive a blessing. Please make sure animals are on a leash if appropriate for their species.
Box of Joy Project – St. Joseph’s Catholic School is partnering with St. John’s Parish to deliver a Box of Joy to children who may not receive a present at Christmas. Box of Joy is a ministry of Cross Catholic Outreach. Boxes will include toys, schools supplies, hygiene items, etc. for boys and girls ages 1-14. Each box has specific information and suggestions for gifts – a $9 check should be included to help cover shipping to the destination country and to support Catholic ministries.
Our school has 70 boxes to fill for children in need of a Christmas gift. If you and your family would like to help us fulfill our goal, please come to the office and pick up a box. Boxes should be delivered back to the school by October 31st. The parish is in need of volunteers from Nov. 2nd – Nov. 10th to collect boxes – We will be sending more information on this volunteer opportunity.
“The gifts you pack in a Box of Joy show God’s unconditional love and spark the joy every child should experience at Christmas. More important, they are symbolic of God’s greatest gift, his son Jesus Christ” Cross Catholic Outreach
Have a wonderful extended weekend. Thank you for your commitment to your child’s Catholic Education!
Blessings,
