Principal’s Post 12.12.19

Good afternoon St. Joseph’s Families,

I hope you and your families are having a blessed Advent. Christmas break is just around the corner and we are almost half way through our school year.  Just a reminder to check your child’s grades in our PlusPortals system as our 2nd quarter ends on December 20th.

We had three very amazing events over the last week; the first was the middle school science fair. Thank you Mrs. McClure and all of our science fair judges! Mrs. McClure puts in a lot of extra effort to provide our students with this amazing opportunity. Our students rose to the challenge – I was so impressed with our student presentations and the level of scientific research and inquiry that they were able to share. This was such a great example of active learning and application of content and skills – Great job to all!!

Our second great event was the Christmas concert! Another big thank you to Mr. Aspiri and Mrs. Moody for preparing our students for this event. What a beautiful display of our Catholic Values and our students’ anticipation of the upcoming Christmas season. I so enjoyed the evening and it helped get me into the Christmas Spirit!!

The third was the presentation of the Humanitarian Award. The Humanitarian Award is given out to one 8th grade student from each Treasure Valley Catholic School. It represents all we are called to be as Catholics, giving back to others selflessly. Our 8th grade student, Eve Barry was the St. Joseph’s recipient of the Humanitarian Award. Congratulations to Eve and her family!

Congratulations to our TVCS 7th grade girls’ basketball team. They won the Inter-valley League championship last night! Our 8th grade girls came in second in the league! Good job to all!

Weather: As the temperatures continues to get colder, please help your child remember to bring a coat. We will be outside in the morning before school as long as the temperature is above 30 degrees – otherwise, we will be in the cafeteria. For morning and lunch recess, we will be outside with a temperature of 25 degrees or higher.

Upcoming dates to mark on your calendars:

  • End of 2nd quarter on Friday, December 20th – half day!
  • Students return to school on Tuesday, January 7th

Thank you for all you do to make St. Joseph’s Catholic School such a special place and for your commitment to your child’s Catholic education!

Blessings,

Tammy Emerich
