Principal’s Post 2.27.20

Happy Thursday St. Joseph’s Families,

We had a wonderful Ash Wednesday Mass – our students will be learning more about Lent over the next six weeks. This is a great time to have family discussion on a very important part of our Catholicity!  Can you believe that March is almost over? Third quarter ends on March 13th, please check your child’s grades on our PlusPortals system.

I sent out a parent survey on specials and electives yesterday afternoon. We would appreciate your feedback as we plan for next school year.

Hallisey weekend is almost here – this a great event for our middle school students and their families. Camaraderie, sportsmanship and teamwork are at the heart of Hallisey. I am looking forward to seeing our students participate!

We had our Open House on Tuesday and had over 20 families join us for a tour and information about our wonderful school community. In addition, we accepted 46 new kindergarten students for the 2020-2021 school year! We will have a waiting list in kindergarten next year. Thank you to Julie Robinson and Shannon Phillips for their work on our Open House!!

I want to leave you with a wonderful prayer from Dynamic Catholic Online

Lenten Prayer for Transformation

Loving Father,

I invite you into my life today
and make myself available to you.
Help me to become the-best-version-of-myself
by seeking your will and becoming a living example
of your love in the world.
Open my heart to the areas of my life that need to change
in order for me to carry out the mission
and experience the joy you have imagined for my life.
Inspire me to live the Catholic faith
in ways that are dynamic and engaging.
Show me how to best get involved in the life of my parish.
Make our community hungry for best practices
and continuous learning.
Give me courage when I am afraid,
hope when I am discouraged,
and clarity in times of decision.
Teach me to enjoy uncertainty and lead your Church
to become all you imagined it would be
for the people of our times. Amen.
