Principal’s Post 3.12.20

Good Afternoon St. Joseph’s Families,

What a beautiful day we are having, the weather is absolutely amazing! Can you believe that March is here already?  Third quarter ends next week on March 13th; that is a half day of school so teachers can finish up grades and prepare for our final quarter of the school year. We will post report cards to our PlusPortals system the afternoon of Wednesday, March 18th

On Monday of this week, I sent an email about the coronavirus (COVID-19). We are working hard to provide extra sanitation methods for St. Joseph’s School. I am checking the CDC website and the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare daily for accurate, factual information as it relates to Idaho and Boise specifically.

I sent out a parent survey on specials and electives last Wednesday afternoon. I have 150 families who have responded – that is great feedback! I am going to leave the survey open until Friday, March 13th for those of you who would still like to participate. We would appreciate your feedback as we plan for next school year. I will share the data with you the first week in April.

Hallissey weekend was amazing – this was a great event for our middle school students and their families. Congratulations to our 8th grade girls who received the sportsmanship award two years in a row!!  In addition, one of our 8th grade boys teams received 3rd place in the tournament! Camaraderie, sportsmanship and teamwork were shown in so many ways – I so enjoyed watching all of our St. Joseph’s teams play! Thank you to all the coaches who volunteered their time – thank you Kevan Grant for taking the lead on all things Hallissey for St. Joseph’s Catholic School!!

Daily Lenten Prayer from Creighton University:

Lord,
I’m not always eager to do your will.
I’d often much rather do my own will.
Please be with me on this Lenten journey
and help me to remember
that your own spirit can guide me
in the right direction.
I want to “fix” my weaknesses
but the task seems overwhelming.
But I know that with your help,
anything can be done.
With a grateful heart,
I acknowledge your love
and know that without you,
I can do nothing.

Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. I know you have many choices when it comes to educating your child – thank you for choosing St. Joseph’s Catholic School.

Blessings,

Tammy Emerich
