Week #2

We have successfully completed the first week of school!

It is very important that you read the school newsletters and email communications from the school.  We try to limit emails sent to really important information (i.e. our drop-off lane and playground closures).  We need to work together to make sure that your students are safe and are learning.
Safety:
The drop-off lane off of Hays will be closed on Thursday (Aug. 25) and Friday (Aug. 26) and Monday (Aug. 29).  Our playground will also be closed.  This closure is due to the Cathedral air conditioning repairs.

Please drop your students off on 8th Street.  They will enter through the 8th Street door and go directly to the gym.  If your child is small, please park in the parking lot at 8th and Hays and walk them to the 8th Street door.
Sorry for the inconvenience.  Our priority is keeping all students safe during this much needed construction project.  There will be more construction and closures Sept. 6-9.  Stay tuned for more information.
Learning:
Back to School Night is Wednesday, Aug. 31st.  This evening is for parents only, and teachers will be sharing their expectations and procedures.
K-5 teachers will give two identical presentations at 6 p.m. and 6:20 p.m.  This is to accommodate parents with children in multiple classes.
All of the middle school teachers will start in the gym at 6:45 p.m.   After a brief middle school presentation, parents will travel to each of their child’s classes for 5 minutes each.  The middle school presentations will conclude around 8 p.m.
Please plan to attend this night; it is the best way to know how to be involved in your child’s education.
